There were 20 cases of domestic violence that occurred in the past year in Pamekasan Regency. The number of cases of domestic violence is certainly a homework for the Pamekasan Police to press so that these cases do not increase every year. This study aims to determine the authority of the police in overcoming the crime of domestic violence and the inhibiting factors for overcoming the crime of domestic violence in the jurisdiction of the Pamekasan Police. This type of research is empirical or juridical sociological research with legal psychology and criminology approaches. Taking the research location in the PPA Unit of the Pamekasan Police with data collectiontechniques through interviews, documentation, and literature studies which were then analyzed descriptively analytically. The results of the study indicate that the authority of the Pamekasan Resort Police is to carry out a process of investigation and investigation of cases of domestic violence. This authority is in the form of providing security for victims, providing assistance from the medical team, advocates, and clergy by cooperating with relevant agencies. The inhibiting factor in overcoming the crime of domestic violence is the lack of public understanding of the crime of domestic violence, by considering cases of domestic violence as a private sphere and should not be raised in the public domain. The next factor is that the settlement of domestic violence cases is mostly carried out in a familial way so that the perpetrators do not receive sanctions in accordance with applicable legal provisions. Efforts are being made to tackle the crime of domestic violence, namely pre-emptive efforts, namely collaborating with the DP3A of Pamekasan Regency to disseminate UUPKDRT, preventive efforts, namely placing female police officers in the PPA Unit of the Pamekasan Police. Repressive efforts are efforts to take action by carrying out legal processes on cases of domestic violence.
